Chado Urasenke Tankokai DC, with Japan-America Society DC hosted a Charity Tea Ceremony at the Japanese embassy. Following traditions of Tanabata, a festival which occurred on July 7th, guests wrote wishes to hang on branches of bamboo. Many wrote words of encouragement for victims of the recent disaster. Proceeds from the event will aid recovery efforts through the CARE FOR JAPAN Fund and the ROAD Project. Thank you to both organizations, and the people who participated.
