The Democratic Party of Japan's historic win in the August 30th, 2009 Lower House elections may prove to be the most important and transformational election in postwar Japanese history. One of the world's most distinguished experts on Japan, Professor Gerald Curtis of Columbia University, will discuss what lies ahead for Japan and the United States. Professor Curtis will have just returned from observing the elections and meeting with key political figures in Japan.
