Since its opening in1992, the library has provided the public with access to a wide range of information on contemporary Japan. Available formats include books, periodicals and audiovisual media in both Japanese and English. Key topics covered by the collection include Japanese business and economics, politics and government, society, and culture and customs. Other major areas of the collection include U.S.-Japan relations, and Japanese language instruction and study.

  • Hours: 10:00 am -5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Closed on holidays. Please check out materials by 5:15 pm.* The library will be closed between 12/24/08 and 1/2/09.
  • Location: 1819 L St. NW Suite 300, Washington, DC, 20036. Nearest metro stations are Farragut North (red line) and Farragut West (blue or orange line).
