its opening in December 1992, the mission of the Sasakawa Peace

mutual understanding between the United States and Japan. In 1997,
in response to dramatic changes occurring
throughout the world, SPF-USA expanded its mission to include the
promotion of mutual understanding throughout the Asia-Pacific region,

USA's mission has expanded to include the transmission of new

U.S. to these countries. These messages and ideas cover a wide range
of
topics, including politics, economics, culture, and diplomacy.
