As part of SPF USA’s Asian Voices Seminar Series and the USINDO Neighbors Series, this special seminar will explore the political, security and economic developments of Southeast Asia with an emphasis on the policies of Japan and Indonesia. Panelists will address the region’s pressing political challenges, economic integration, and Japan’s engagement with Southeast Asia. A broad overview of the implications of these policies on both the region and the United States also will be discussed.

The "Asian Voices: Promoting Dialogue between the US and Asia" Seminar Program seeks to provide a forum for Asian voices to be heard within the Washington community-voices on a wide range of regional and global topics. The Seminar Program, however, will not be restricted solely to Asia-Pacific issues, or US-Japan relations, but will focus on the broader global questions that confront both parts of the world.
